01. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored in your browser when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember information across page loads - such as your session or display preferences. Similar technologies (local storage, session storage, pixels) serve related purposes and are covered by this policy.

Cookies can be first-party (set directly by etximpaxt.com) or third-party (set by services we integrate with, such as analytics providers). They can be session cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or persistent cookies (stored until they expire or you delete them).

02. Cookie Categories We Use

Essential

Always active. These cookies are necessary for the website to function. They do not collect personal data for marketing purposes and cannot be disabled. Examples: security tokens, navigation state.

Analytics

Optional. Help us understand how visitors interact with the site - which pages are visited, how long users stay, and where they came from. We use this data in aggregate to improve content and performance. Requires your consent.

Marketing

Optional. Used to measure the effectiveness of campaigns and, where applicable, deliver relevant advertising. Currently we do not run retargeting ads, but this category is provided for transparency should that change. Requires your consent.

Functional

Optional. Enable enhanced features that are not strictly necessary - such as embedded video players, live chat, or saved display preferences. Requires your consent.

03. Cookie List

The following table lists the specific cookies currently in use on this site.

Name Category Provider Purpose Expires
etx_cookie_consent Essential eTX ImpaXt Stores your cookie consent preferences so we don't ask again on every visit. 1 year (localStorage)
_ga Analytics Google Analytics Distinguishes unique users for aggregate traffic reporting. 2 years
_ga_* Analytics Google Analytics Persists session state for the Google Analytics measurement ID. 2 years
_gid Analytics Google Analytics Distinguishes users within a 24-hour window. 24 hours

This list is updated as our technology stack evolves. If you notice a cookie not listed here, please contact us.

04. Third-Party Services

Some features on our site rely on third-party services. These providers may set their own cookies subject to their own privacy policies:

  • Google Analytics - traffic analytics. Google Privacy Policy. You can opt out globally via the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
  • Google Fonts - typography delivery. Fonts are loaded from fonts.googleapis.com; Google may log your IP address. See Google Privacy Policy.

We do not use Facebook Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, or other advertising trackers at this time.

05. Your Choices

You have several ways to control cookies:

  • Our consent banner - when you first visit the site, a banner lets you accept all, decline non-essential, or customize by category. You can revisit this at any time:
  • Browser settings - all modern browsers allow you to view, block, or delete cookies. Note that blocking essential cookies may break site functionality.
  • Google Analytics opt-out - install the Google Analytics Opt-out Add-on to prevent data collection across all sites using GA.
  • Do Not Track - we respect the DNT browser signal; analytics will not fire if DNT is enabled.

06. Legal Basis (CCPA / ePrivacy / UK PECR)

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, and opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell personal data. Analytics data is processed under a service-provider relationship with Google.

Under the ePrivacy Directive (EU cookie law), non-essential cookies require prior consent. Our consent banner implements this requirement. Essential cookies are set on the basis of legitimate interest (strictly necessary for service delivery).

For UK visitors, non-essential cookies require prior consent under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) 2003 (as amended). Our consent banner satisfies this requirement for UK users.

For Texas residents, the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act (TDPSA) provides similar rights. See our Privacy Policy for full details on your rights and how to exercise them.

07. Policy Updates

We may update this Cookie Policy as our services evolve or as regulations change. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date above. Continued use of the site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
